In county it has been a busy few months, as I write this we are just about to do our final site visit for our tranche of Health and Safety Days we have hosted jointly with Hampshire and Gloucestershire teams, with over 225 farmers set to have attended one of the four sessions available this summer.
We have also finished our run of spring shows with the three YFC Rallies hosted across our patch, with great displays put on by Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Young Farmers counties. It has been great to see the display of talent heading up the ladder in the industry, and members of the public engaging with where food comes from. A big thank you to our local group office teams for heading up the work on stands for these shows.
Locally we have been working hard to engage with MPs and local councils on the challenges being presented to the farming industry. Be this the proposed Inheritance Tax changes, Double Cab Pick Up Tax changes or ensuring that elected officials understand how vital British farming is to securing our food security as a nation.
I will be keeping you all updated monthly as to the work going on in county in more detail, including MP visits, upcoming events and opportunities to feed into consultations locally.
