This is a new area providing you with news, events, and updates from NFU activity within Devon.
We had a fantastic start to the show season with blue skies bringing record numbers to Devon County Show. The stand was a hive of activity across all three days and it was great to see so many of you.
On the first day, NFU President Tom Bradshaw spoke to a packed audience at our President’s reception which featured a sparkling Devon cream tea.
He emphasised the importance of looking to the positives in farming, despite the many current challenges and urged members to continue to write to their MPs, particularly Labour ones, about the impact of inheritance tax changes.
Day two saw BBC Radio Devon host a special agricultural feature direct from the stand, and NFU Countryside Adviser Poppy Sherbourne hosted a member roundtable focused on environmental opportunities and challenges.

Sophie and I look forward to seeing you throughout the summer season, at local shows and branch events.
