Combinable crops

91²Ö¿âCombinable Crops Board is in a unique position to set the agenda and deliver a vision of arable farming that farmers, customers and suppliers, the government and the public could all work towards.

Our vision marks arable farmers' desire for recognition about the positive contributions they make to the country's future. Farmers are pivotal to society in gaining sustainable products from our land resources because they manage and safeguard what comes out of the British landscape: food, energy, renewable materials, clean water, and diverse habitats.

Harvest update

Harvest 2025 is well underway, with combines rolling across the countryside we're seeing some of the earliest start dates since 2006.

With the harvest of spring barley and oilseed rape all but complete, growers have moved into the winter wheat across much of England and Wales and, despite the dry weather seen during the spring, initial reports are showing variable but generally reasonable yields and quality.

Further analysis indicates that the impact of dry weather has varied by region, with soil type and rainfall being the key drivers of yield variability. The persistently dry conditions across much of the country are helping to accelerate the pace of harvest, supporting a swift and efficient completion of the 2025 season.
